Gavin Withers has
won photographic awards both locally and internationally. He
has photographed weddings in Johannesburg, Namibia, England
and Cape Town. He has had lots of experience in
photographing Muslim, Indian, Jewish, Buddhist and Christian
ceremonies.
The secret to
Gavin’s success is that he gets to know his couples before
the wedding.
Pre-wedding
portraits are taken a few weeks prior to the wedding. A
final interview held at his studio in Diep River one week
before the wedding, helps him to understand the personal
needs of his couples.>
From an early age,
photography has had an important part in Gavin’s life. His
father was also an award winning portrait photographer.
Gavin was chairman of his photographic society at school. He
worked in the hotel industry as a chef. Whilst doing this,
he learnt the art of food photography.
19 years ago, after
leaving the Cape Sun International hotel, he started Gavin
Withers Photography cc. He, together with his friend, Mark Engelbrecht, have built the business up to the well oiled
company that it is today. They are both highly respected in
the field of wedding and portrait photography, and they will
readily share their knowledge with those starting in the
industry.
Recently they have
been joined by Max of Sound Images and Jacques of Jacques
Bartie photography, the four of them thus making a
formidable team in the Western Cape.
Whilst on the topic
of the business expanding, Gavin Withers Photography is
proud to be associated with Marc of MW Productions, Michael
of Fotovideo and Andrew of Black Eagle projects. These three
videographers have worked with the GWP cc group on many a
wedding, thus proving the point that your Photographer and
Videographer should be able to work together as a team.
